For over 300 years, Roscoff''s onions have been cultivated and selected by the market gardeners from the north coast of Finistère. They are plaited by hand, onion after onion, around a central rush stem for easier transportation. Tying up at the neck of the onion stops the entry of air and allows them to stay fresh for six months.

Thanks to the proximity to the sea and the knowhow of the local producers, the taste of Roscoff's Onions is unique.  When raw, they are sweet with a fruity smell and a crispy and juicy texture.  Once cooked they develop a sweet and fruity taste and melt in the mouth.

The quality and specificity of Roscoff's Onions are now recognized through the French label of origin "Appellation d'Origine Controllée" or ADC.

Each double string weighs approximately 3kg.
