| Merula is the second oil from the estate of the Marques de Valdueza family estate near Merida which has been producing some of the world’s finest olive oils for over 500 years. The oil is a blend of the different varieties grown on the estate: mainly Arbequina, Hojiblanca, Picual and Morisca. A versatile oil, it can be used equally well for cooking, and in flavoured vinaigrettes as well as for finishing dishes. Aromas of citrus are balanced by a gentle nuttiness and a light peppery finish.
The superb tins won the prestigious First Place at the 36th Annual Mobius Awards and were designed to reflect the essence of the oil, using the silhouette of the blackbirds that traditionally flock around the estate’s olive groves. Apart from protecting the superb oil from the light, these tins put art on your kitchen’s counter top.
