A small red pepper with a little tail or ‘pico’ – hence their name – with its own Denominación de Origen, or guarantee of origin. These small red peppers are roasted, then peeled and packed by hand in their own juices. Piquillos peppers have an intense flavour, which is initially sweet and then develops into a warm spicy finish with a light, smoky taste. They are great for stuffing and add a depth and rich flavour to stews, salads and tortillas.
