| Vintage Kimono
These glorious garments are inspired by the desire to create something new from the spirit of the old. Vintage kimonos bought in Kyoto are carefully washed, the thread unravelled, the fabric ironed, then redesigned and made into modern garments. Only one garment can be made out of each vintage kimono, so each item is unique.
These garments are one size which fits up to a size 20. Because of the cut they look as good on a Size 10 as a Size 20. Being extremely light weight and made from the finest silk, they are perfect for travelling as they hardly crush and can be worn in the day or evening. They can be washed by hand, preferably in cold or tepid water and ironed with a cool iron.
Now we also garments in winter wool mix using vintage kimono detail on them, either as trim or as panels, as well as patchwork items like shawls and scarves, bags and pouches.
Please note that, as the garments are made from Vintage Kimono, there may be some minor flaws, such as some small pin sized holes left when unravelling the kimono's thread. On close inspection they may in some cases be noticeable but they don't really affect the appearance of the item when worn. |
