It's a nightmare finding stylish place mats. I've been looking for a couple of years now and finally came across these from the French design house, Taïr Mercier, and very popular they have proved too. Made of polypropylene, they are heat resistant to 90°C (so they can't be used as trivets) and are easily cleaned with soap and water. All of the photos of the table mats were shot on a clear wood (mdf) table. They look different (but just as great) on marble, granite, glass, white board or any other surface.
There's also a lovely coordinating range of plates that are dishwasher safe. This autumn/winter we have introduced their coordinating table lamps. Click here to see the lamps.
And just for fun, we have some disposable paper placemats that have maps of famous cities printed on them. A real talking point for us international jet setters!
