I gave up having a deep fat fryer until a few years ago because they were always so difficult to clean. Then I bought my Magimix Professional Deep Fat Fryer, almost all the parts of which go in the dishwasher. Because it works with the lid off, it is necessary to use it close to an extractor fan. Although deep-fat frying may have a bad name in these days of “healthy” eating, it has a really useful place particularly in oriental cuisine. So I use mine mainly to deep fry breaded prawns, wontons and prawn crisps. The thermostat is so accurate that I get perfect results every time.
