Fully Automatic “Bean to cup” Espresso Machines do not have a filter holder and, at the push of a button, perform all the basic brewing functions within the machine. Other than selecting the initial setting for the consistency of the grind and regulating the amount of water to flow through the brewing cylinder, it is a totally hands-free automatic brewing system.
The coffee is ground to a precise consistency in the built-in burr grinder and is automatically dosed into a tamping cylinder in the brewing assembly where the ground coffee is tamped. A regulated amount of heated water is pumped through the compressed coffee directly into the cup(s). The machine then disposes of the used coffee grounds internally and is ready to start another brewing cycle automatically.
